Q we have a lot of people who “belong” to our meetup group in Pittsburgh, but we have a hard time getting more than 10 people to actually attend a meetup. How can we increase participation?
-
We hope our meetup grows after our WordCamp (we only get 5 – 10 people at a meetup) but we have over 100 signed up….
-
@bamadesigner question was: what should someone wanting to start a Meetup do?
-
We are in same situation as @PappyOyler
-
What advice would you give for folks wanting to start a meetup?
-
@pappyolyer how many usually rsvp
-
@ShawnHooper let us talk about my hair.
-
But first meetups!
-
we have had as many as 30 rsvp and then 5 actually show up
-
we have done several “happiness bar” style meetups and we have 10 – 12 people show up
-
Our frist WC is this Spet, so maybe that will help?
-
@PappyOyler yes
-
@AdamThomson yes https://make.wordpress.org/community/meetups/
-
@PappyOyler We always do a Happiness Bar at the end of each meetup. Have “experts” (hate that word) offer to stick around after the main presentation to help for 20 minutes or so.
